”Coach” is an unprotected title. There are therefore many different degrees of qualifications and many different forms of coaching. The demarcation line between many forms of therapy (e.g. supportive, cognitive) and coaching is extremely unclear.
I would say that when working with coaching my focus is more on the here and now, and we are not focusing on your deeper unconscious motifs or conflicts. Coaching is therefore suitable for those who want to work with motivation and conscious thought processes. People who do not suffer symptoms and maladaptive patterns repeating themselves.
After a few initial sessions we will most often limit ourselves to the exploration of a more defined area. The number of sessions and frequency will vary, and will be something we agree on from the start. Generally this will be a shorter process than psychotherapy.
